You are choosing an investor as much as we are choosing you.
Angel Capital is run by two chartered accountants, father and son, who have spent their careers inside other people's businesses.
Swami Saran Sharma
A fellow chartered accountant with more than 45 years in practice and entrepreneurship, and one of India's better-known independent voices on insurance and personal finance. He is widely regarded for the practical depth of his knowledge in the insurance domain — the sort that comes from explaining it to ordinary readers rather than to a boardroom.
He has written over a thousand published articles and columns in frontline Indian newspapers and magazines, consistently on the practical problems real consumers and small businesses face with tax and insurance. His writing has done more than inform readers: it has been used by the authorities in bringing about policy changes.
- Over 45 years in professional practice and entrepreneurship
- Co-founder of an early Indian online insurance aggregator, among the first multilingual insurance e-commerce platforms in the country
- Regular contributor to national business publications on insurance, taxation and personal finance
- Leads governance, financial strategy and turnaround support for portfolio companies
Sabhya Saachi Sharma
A chartered accountant in practice, and the person who runs the investment side day to day. His work covers cross-border tax and transfer pricing, GST advisory and litigation, deal structuring, FEMA and RBI compliance and corporate secretarial matters — which is also exactly what portfolio companies get access to from day one.
He sits on the boards of companies across insurance broking, learning technology, cybersecurity and manufacturing, and spends much of his time on the structural questions founders get wrong early: where to hold IP, when to incorporate abroad, and how to keep a cap table clean enough to survive a Series A diligence.
- Practising chartered accountant, partner in an established Gurugram firm
- Structures India–Singapore, India–UAE and India–US arrangements, including place of effective management, transfer pricing and holding company design
- Director across operating companies in insurance broking, learning technology and industrial manufacturing
- Participates in the investment side of an India-based angel fund alongside other angels
An investor who can read your books.
There is a practical difference between an investor who asks for your numbers and one who can tell what they mean.
We tell you what we are examining and share what we find. Founders regularly fix things during our diligence that would have cost them a later round.
The tax, structuring and compliance support comes from our own team, not a referral to someone who will bill you for it.
We will disagree with you plainly and then back your decision. You run the company; we are not looking to run it for you.
